Recommendations for getting to the stadium
How does public transport work? How do taxis charge? See these and other answers below.
We recommend that you leave with plenty of time to get to the stadium where you will enjoy the games. The stadiums hosting Copa América games will open three hours before the matches.
In cities other than Santiago, public transport requires cash payment, in local currency.
Public transport in the capital city consists of:
- Transantiago buses: you can use the bip! Card, which is obtained and loaded in subway stations or authorized centers. Check out the web site of Transantiago.
- Santiago subway: you can purchase tickets at the station or use your bip! Card. Check out the website of the Subway of Santiago.
- Official taxis are black and yellow. When getting in, make sure that there is a taximeter calculating the rate of route and ask for a receipt when your journey is over.
